Bengali Typing

The Bengali language has millions of speakers. It is written in its own Bengali writing system. This script is a bit typical to write. Hence Bengali typing on a PC or laptop is quite difficult, especially for a non-Bengali person.

Instructions

To type directly with the computer keyboard:

  • Use the capital to type letters subscribed with a dot below: T, Th, D, Dh, N, R, Rh, S
  • Type G for ng & J for ñ
  • Type sh to have ś
  • Type aa, ii, uu (or A, I, U) for the long vowels ā, ī, ū
  • Type -r and -ri for ri and rī
  • Type -l and -li for li and lī
  • Type M for  (anusvara) & MM for  (candra bindu)
  • Type H for  (visarga)
  • Type / or | for  (danda)
  • Type ' (apostrophe) for  (avagraha)
  • For the jo-phola, add the virama before the character:  + 

Description

Though typing text is one of the tiring and boring tasks to perform on a PC still every user has to perform this task each day. Most text typings are in the own languages of users or in the mother language of the PC keyboard. But unusually users have to type text in a foreign language.
