To type directly with the computer keyboard:

• Type a double consonant tt, nn, ll, rr, ss (or T, N, L, R, S) for ṭ   ṇ   ḷ   ṟ   ṣ
• Type a triple consonant nnn for ṉ
• Type a triple consonant lll (or z) for ḻ
• Type G or ng for ṅ & J for ñ
• Type aa, ii, uu, ee, oo (or A, I, U, E, O) for the long vowels ā, ī, ū, ē, ō
• Type K for ஃ (visarga)
• Type M for ஂ (anusvara)
• Type OM for ௐ
• Type auu for ௗ

Tamil Language

Tamil is the local language in some parts of India.
